About the founder
A family that helps families.
Doulagy has been in the making for several years. Sheila began in Southern California as Sheicando, graduated from the Swaddle Company, moved to Texas, and gathered every brand into one practice: Doulagy.
Mission
As a doula, Sheila’s mission is to provide emotional, physical, and informational support to expectant parents and their families during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. She believes in empowering all expectant parents to make informed decisions, and in helping them have the most positive experience possible, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.
For the greater part of her life she has loved nothing more than family. She has always been placed in the presence of babies and children, and always wanted to be an encouragement to others. Being a doula was destined without her ever knowing the word. The motto she carries now is simple: Do utilize all given to YOU!
How she got here
After working several years in the medical industry — and considering nursing, as her mother and aunt had — her cousin Lisa shared information about becoming a doula. She had never heard the term. She researched it, and knew it was her calling. Her husband and her mother knew it too.
On the journey there were obstacles. She now names them as the making of the work: a family that helps families. Credentials listed on the current Doulagy site include certified doula, lactation educator, and CPR / first aid instructor. Infant CPR classes for parents are also offered.
- Certified postpartum doula (CPD)

The next chapter is an agency, not a solo calendar.
Sheila still meets families first. The rebuild is here so more trained doulas can serve more households without the Wix bottleneck.
